Access to birdwatching site

Birdwatching can be done from the shore at the municipal boat launch on Chemin du Lac, as well as from the end of Chemin Madore. Better yet, take a boat ride on the lake itself.

The area

This pretty lake is ringed by cottages and a forest. The different environments (swampy areas, a marsh, and a small river) that make up the wooded section form a site attractive to both the amateur and experienced birder.
From a boat you can really appreciate the richness of this site—a site of numerous, and often surprising, birdwatching encounters. The shore-bound birdwatcher can see almost the full length of the lake from the municipal boat launch.

Birds to watch for

In autumn, this site hosts a number of migrating species such as the Red-breasted Merganser, the Ring-necked Duck, the Pied-billed Grebe, the Hooded Merganser and the Canada Goose.

In the spring and summer, it is possible to see a variety of birds such as the Green Heron, the Virginia Rail, the Ruby-crowned Kinglet, the Magnolia Warbler or the Osprey.

The Bald Eagle is also sighted from time to time each year.
