The interpretation sites which form the route, seven (7) on the Canadian side and nine (9) on the American side, transport us to 1832. At that time, legislative vagueness surrounded the delimitation of the border, which pushed the inhabitants of this territory to create for themselves a republic independent of Canada and the United States; the republic of the Indian Stream!

A tourist route to discover the most beautiful landscapes of the Eastern Townships as well as our American and British heritage.

In the Coaticook River Valley, the Trail takes you to Waterville, Compton, Coaticook and Barnston-Ouest (Way’s Mills), passing through Kingscroft to discover the best preserved heritage treasures. To discover by car, motorbike, or even bicycle!

Got a thirst for a long hike? Set off to discover the Coaticook River Valley on foot, on a 209 km loop that you could do in approximately 12 days of walking, through our twelve municipalities which each have a bit of their own unique character. Hop on the trails!

By car, bike or on foot, discover the natural and patrimonial beauties of our twelve (12) municipalities. Six tours are available. Photo opportunities. Historical and gastronomical tours available from May to October.

GET TO KNOW COLORFUL AND INSPIRING CHARACTERS WHO HAVE TAKEN PART IN THE REGION’S HISTORY

This is a circuit of characters who have marked the history of the region, an original and unique tourist attraction! Come hear the story of these pioneers and learn highlights of the development of their municipality in the Coaticook region, Memphremagog and even in New Hampshire.

In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Communications, the town of Coaticook has set up three different heritage circuits. The richness of the building heritage, religious heritage and the history of the people are highlighted there.

Discover them using the three notebooks: the "Walker's Guide", the "Architectural Walks" and "From Yesterday to Today: Industry in Coaticook". Good walk!
